Then reality sets in... I NEED A MAN!!!

Being single isn't so bad, I've learned a lot being a single girl. I can change a tire, check my oil & levels in my car and even change a car battery by myself. I can hang up picture frames, fix small things around the house. I've gotten over my fear of bugs... well sorta as long as I am armed with a bottle of Raid, high heel and ton of napkins. I can and will kill a bug, not to mention I will pollute the air with Raid that every bug in a square mile is choking and I don't really smoosh the bug but throw a high heel from 50 feet away praying it will hit it, I've gotten good! I've gotten so independent that I think, I could survive without a guy!
But today reality kicked through the door and I realized... I need a man!!!
After attempting for about an hour, I gave up in tears and yelled out words... I NEED A MAN!!!
Nope, superman or any guy for that matter came running, no one saved my day and was my hero, I had to walk away and just give up, and asked myself...
"Will I Ever Be Able to Open the Jar of Pickles Again?"

So I'm taking up applications, but there is one test you must pass...
"Can you open this jar of pickles for me?"

Parachute Away!!!

~*~Remember when you were in elementry school, picture it. Gym class, back when it was fun not work and sweaty like in Jr. High and High School but there was one day that you look forward too. Ok so some are thinking dodge ball, (I was only good at dodging balls just not throwing them back!) but I'm talking about the day everyone loved!!! Parachute day!!! Everyone could get involved, the teacher would bright out this HUGE multicolored parachute and if you were lucky you would get a handle, otherwise you held on to the side. Oh how cool, making it waves or making it fly up high and almost float down. Or try to keep the balls on the parachute as we bounced them around or run under it. Oh my the fun!!!
~*~So I haven't thought about this for YEARS!!! So when I came across something about parachutes I realized I JUST HAD to have one!!! I figured they would be expensive and way out of my price range but I started looking. After caculating the kids at my church and the size I would need plus what I could afford I found a very affordable one! I bided on one on ebay and I'm just HOPING I get it cause it used but it great condition and cheap!!!
~*~Now I'm bouncing around like a kid, telling everyone that I'm getting a parachute! Lots of the teens and adults were ssssoooo excited, except for a few. Poor homeschooled children that never got to experience the parachute day!!! Don't worry we will fix that!
~*~Hey and with all my research did you know that parachutes are actually good for you? Yeap that right, it teaches teamwork, cooperation, upper body strenght and of course it's lots of fun!!!
~*~A parachute kid forever~*~

Future Jr. Camp Woes!

*PS* This story is for those who every worked with kids, sunday school kids, Jr. Campers or kids in general. Only you will understand! For all those who haven't, will not understand why you do have to have this conversation with kids sometimes! So don't read it if you will get offended! LOL Don't say that I didn't warn ya! It's really not bad, but SOMEONE will get offended I'm sure with a "That gross don't post that!" Comment!

So excited about Junior Camp this year that I was in seventh heaven! Lots of campers going, some needing the Holy Ghost and several of my Sunday School Kids (SSK) are going and so on!!! Nine total campers, 2 staff (including myself) 4 off campus, equaling 15 total!!! Woohoo!!! With 4 that need the Holy Ghost!!!

BUT... Then the realization of how by the end of the week after your head is swirling with questions like "For Reals?!?!?!" come crashing in already and camp hasn't even started!!!

I was telling the SSK what they needed to bring to camp, talking to them about what kind of clothes, stuff they need to bring, (like towels, shampoo etc.) but when I mentioned they need Five pairs of underwear at least.
One of my SSK looked at me in shock and said, "We have to bring FIVE pairs of underwear??? Why?!?!?"
"Cause you have to take a shower every day and change your underwear!" I responded kinda shocked.
"Why can't I put on my old pair? I do that all the time!!" She was very upset!
"Cause they are dirty!!!"
"Ssssoooo...."
~Sigh~ but then responded firmly, "As your future counselor, my campers will not smell during the week so you will have to take a shower, brush your teeth, and change your underwear EVERYDAY!!!"
"How do I brush my teeth everyday if I don't have a toothbrush?" said one of the younger girls.

~Sigh~ It going to be a long week at camp, but I'm still excited!!! I think I will have to sing them my silly song, it a Jr. Camp tradition for my campers so it should teach a lesson. My old campers know what song I'm talking about!!! LOL

My Dream!

They say if you can't sum up your dreams and goals in one or two sentences then you are not certain of your dream! So here my dream...

"I may not amount to much but if I can influence a child that will one day become a modern day Peter or Paul. Then I accomplished my greatest dream!" ~Jac~

What is that smell?

It was Sunday afternoon when I sat down for lunch at a local café; I was eating alone and choose a seat near the front so I can watch the people as they ordered their food.
When my food arrived, I started to smell the most awful smell; it seriously smelled like an old man who just smoked a pack of cigarettes in one sitting.
I slightly gagged and slyly looked around for the old man, no one was near me and the only people that were 10 ft away was a young decent looking couple, a mother with her small daughter and the little employee cleaning the display windows.
“That’s odd.” I thought, but as I started eating again, “Wow, where is that guy!”
I decided it had to be someone sitting at the tables.
So I acted like I need more napkins, getting up and walking too closely to the table of two guys my age smelling as I go.
They did smell but not like old men that smoked to much, in fact they smelled pretty good.
I couldn’t figure out for the life of me, where the smell was coming from.
But as I went to take another bite, the smell overwhelmed me and at the same moment, my eye caught the menu, “Smoked Chicken Wrap.”
Yeap you guessed it, my meal which was really good, smelled like an old man who smoked too much!!!
LOL,

Decision...about camps

Don't you hate making a decision? I know I do! In fact, this one I have to make soon or both options are out but I want to make the right one.
I have to take a work off I have to much vaction time built up (again) but I can't take it off all at once. I plan to take off for the youth conference I always got to in July in Colorado Springs, CO Heritage and I don't plan to miss that.
But I need help deciding and to be honest I'm plain stuck!!! I have to choose between 2 camps not the same week but right after each other.
So here is the pros & cons to both....
Apostolic Jr. Camp, a would be working as staff for kids ages 7-13. Fun times, lots of work, no sleep, good food, blessing to others, very very tiring.
New Mexico's New Senior Camp, as a camper, Fun times, new camp, blessing to me, lots of good fellowship.
I love kids, infact I have a burden for them but I have it for teens too but I would be a camper at the senior camp not staff. I have been praying for a senior camp for years and now we have it and I don't even go! LOL
Jr. Camp is HARD work it not much of a vaction but it such a blessing. I could use getting away for myself but I am going to Heritage later that summer. Will I be physically ready to keep up with those hyperactive children?
With so many youth going to New Mexico camp, will there be someone for our kids for Jr. Camp the next week? Most can't do both like me! I can drive the kids up, the parents trust me with their kids and the kids listen to me, I'm used alot at Jr. Camp and they are asking for my help already.
I'm going to try to get off both but if I can't what should I choose? What would you choose? I'm so torn about it that I can't focus on either and I feel like I will betray one or the other?
Any advice will help!!!!

Dear February,

"Dear February,
Please do me a favor and try to go as slowly as possible, unlike your neighbor January back there who raced right on through like Speedy Gonzales. I know you kinda pulled the short straw, being the shortest month and all, but try to do your best. Also, try to warm up a bit. It's entirely too cold out there for my liking.
Love, Lindsay"

From a friend's post, I had to repost it!
